When to call
Most roofs carry a normal winter fine. Call when the snow turns wet and heavy, when ice is building at the eaves, when the icicles are thick as your arm, or when water shows up inside. We remove snow and cut back ice dams without touching the shingles.
What it costs
Hourly, and it depends on the roof and how much is up there. We’ll quote it when you call.
Why it keeps happening
Ice dams usually mean heat is getting into the attic and melting snow from underneath. If that’s what we find, we’ll say so and quote the ventilation fix, so you’re not paying us to come back every February.
If you’d rather do it yourself
A roof rake from the ground, and stop a few inches short of the shingles. Scraping down to the roof takes the granules with it. Never get on a snowy roof.
