Every metal roof is made to order

Think of it as a Tetris puzzle. We measure your roof, plan the panel layout, and Taylor Metal, a Northwest manufacturer, fabricates every piece for it before anything arrives. Concealed-fastener systems, snap-lock and mechanically seamed, in 26, 24 or 22 gauge.

Concealed or exposed fasteners

Exposed-fastener metal, the kind you see on barns, costs a little less up front. Its exposed fasteners and seals need periodic inspection and maintenance. We recommend concealed fasteners for houses. We’ll install exposed-fastener panels on outbuildings if that’s what you want; we just want you to know the trade.

Metal or shingles?

Metal generally costs more up front and can offer a long service life. The system, finish, installation and maintenance all matter. We’ll help you compare cost, appearance and upkeep with a shingle roof, including the repair considerations for each.

On a low-slope roof, product requirements matter. We check the pitch and recommend a roof system approved for it, whether that is a suitable metal assembly or a membrane system. Not every metal roof is designed for every slope.

Metal roofing questions

Which metal roofing systems do you install?

Taylor Metal, a Northwest manufacturer, made to order for your roof. Concealed-fastener systems, snap-lock and mechanically seamed, are what we recommend for houses. We also install exposed-fastener panels on barns and outbuildings; just know the gaskets on every screw need replacing ten or fifteen years in.

What roofing materials do you install?

Composition shingles and metal. Owens Corning is where we usually start on shingles; we also install CertainTeed and GAF. Metal is Taylor Metal standing seam, made to order for your roof. On flat and low-slope commercial roofs we install TPO. Your proposal names the exact product.

What workmanship warranty do you provide?

Ten years, and it transfers to the next owner with the original contract and paid-in-full invoice. Keep both with your house records.

Is the roof inspection free?

Yes, free, with no obligation. A roofer, not a salesperson, walks your roof and you get a written assessment and proposal, usually the next business day. If you need the report for a sale or a claim, say so and we’ll write it that way.
